Thyssen Museum

Today we went into Madrid on the Metro and we went to the Thyssen Museum.  Some famous artworks there are Les Vessenots.

Some famous artists that had their paintings there are: Henry Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso.
I found the first pictures a bit boring because they were all of Jesus or portraits of people.  I liked it more when there were all sorts of paintings so you never got bored.

I especially liked the impressionist paintings and the post impressionist painting. (There was an impressionist room and a post impressionist room.)

  1. It's great that you already knew about some of those painters from your reading. The impressionists certainly show a lot of skill in conjuring up a mood, especially by capturing the play of light on a scene as in the last of these photos. Often a camera can't capture light as well as a painter can.

Does it make you want to do some art work yourself?
