The George Pompidou Center has pipes all over it, yellow for electricity, green for water, blue for air and red for escalators and elevators.

From the top of the George Pompidou Center you could see lots of other places in Paris.
There were also some mechanical fountains outside the George Pompidou Center.

Your dad went to that place when he was a little older than you. I wonder if he remembered it. Anyway a lot of the installations would have changed though not the building itself. I thought the black and white lines in the small room might have been inspired by contour lines on a map.
