Yesterday we went to the mammoth museum.
Dad’s favourite animal was the cave bear. Jasmin’s favourite was a preserved 1 month old (50kg!) baby mammoth called Lyuba. Mine was the prehistoric rhinoceros.
If you were wondering about why the mammoth is extinct it’s because humans managed to kill all of them. Imagine trying to kill something as big as that! They must’ve been really brave!
I really liked the mammoth museum it was lots of fun!
We saw big models of mammoth, sabre toothed tiger, cavemen, prehistoric horses, bison, rhinos, deer and cave bear.

That baby mammoth does look very cute. I'm glad it was preserved for so long, so that you could see it.
ReplyDeleteYes, imagine having to kill a mammoth before you could have dinner; a bit different from walking to the supermarket. It's a pity they hunted them to extinction but lucky that enough remains were left so the animals could be recreated in a museum. Would you like to live in a cave? I think some of the decorated cave walls are in France, the very first human art work. It's good to imagine how they must have lived in those days.
